Default Aviation Insurance Recomendations

Hi everyone. I'm in the process of obtaining renters insurance.
The two companies that I'm currently looking at are Avemco and
AOPA for insurance.

I was wondering if anyone has any positive or negative comments
or recommendations about either of the two fore mentioned companies.
Please let me know if there is another company I should be looking
at.

Thanks,
Matt

Avemco is an insurance company. AOPA is an insurance *agency*.

I've had good service from AOPAIA the past two years; my rates were less
then Avemco by several hundred dollars per year (172, no IFR). AOPAIA
placed me with USAIG. The other major company they deal with is AIG. Don't
know if there are others; might depend upon the type of a/c, your
utilization, etc.

Thanks. I'm a private pilot and I mostly rent 172's and 182's. I looked
at the rates and they are pretty competitive. I did notice that AOPAIA provides
legal council with there insurance package.

Matt
