Instrument trainer (Schweizer 300C) is still down due to a major
overhaul and I can't afford to fly the R44 so my training will be
delayed about a week as the maintenance guys wait for the final parts
to arrive for the 300.

Gonna keep my nose in the books and get the written out of the way as
soon as I feel I'm ready for it. Not looking forward to that
checkride, but am over my annual "I'm sick of helicopters" mode and
motivated to finish up as quickly as possible.

I've got about $15k left in the bank to finish up so hopefully I won't
run out of money before I'm done.

I took and passed the instrument written. Never followed through on the
training for a number of reasons at the time. It's the one regret I have
from my active flying days.

Anyway, as I recall, it was one of the easier tests to take. Instrument
proceedures, in and of themselves, aren't all that complicated. At least
they seemed that way to me back then. ;-)

As always, best of luck in the training! I'm betting you finish up the IFR
ticket with cash to spare! Hope I didn't just jinx you! :-D

Fly Safe,
Steve R.
