I understand they are going through an ownership change; does anybody
know exactly what's going on? They do not answer emails. I haven't
tried calling, but as someone who's considering a KIS Cruiser and will
be making a kit choice pretty soon, what I'm seeing so far from the
factory is not encouraging.

Pulsar aircraft is currently moving their operations. I believe they are
moving out of the country due to manufacturing costs. They did occupy a
hangar at El Monte airport and were moving out last week.

It's a nice design. If it was available from someone other than Jim
Bede, it might be interesting.

Folks need to get over it...the design is sound and many examples are flying...the price is unbeatable also...

The price of flying BD-4's is also unbeatable. I can't believe how
cheap they are.

As for getting over it - when a man steals your life savings, you tend
to remember. I'll never give that ******* a cent. If he sold the
design to someone else, I'd consider it.

You may consider it stealing, but everyone who put money in did it on their own. This is the American way; some you win,
some you loose, and some you leave behind. You pays you money you takes you chances. The engine availability problems
that plagued the BD5 was known to all, but the allure of the plane was irresistible. I am sorry it cast such a bad
shadow over the homebuilder world, but this episode is not the only one. The problems the BD5 caused lead to some pretty
good marketing schemes being developed, money being held in escrow accounts, etc. If you truly think you would consider
the design, you should look again...

Apparently, the old designer of KIS, Richard Trickel is helping with the
move & will be helping out with operations in some way.

To all
First I would like to say Happy Holidays to all and may you have a great
new year. Bob, "Merry Christmas".
Most of you know that I left C.I. Composites and a few know where I went
but I was unable to let everyone know for various reasons. I am now part
of the Pulsar Group and of coarse this includes Pulsar Aircraft. I will
be setting up their composite shop in El Salvador and Guatemala and
getting production going there. Yes like Lancair and Vans we are moving
construction off shore. I will also be working on new projects along
with upgrading the old. There will be some changes at Pulsar Aircraft
also. Solly is leaving and JoJo who has worked here several years will
be handling customer support. He is fairly knowledgeable on the Pulsar
aircraft and learning more on the KIS series. We really want to make a
change with this company but it will not happen overnight.
So the new year will really be new for us and please bare with us while
we improve our business
Rich

Pulsar (Also KIS TR1 and TR4) is not changing ownership but is changing
management and moving production out of the country to El Savadore. Rich
Trickle, who was the original owner of TRI-R Composites and produced the KIS
and KIS Cruiser, will be running the production operations. A new manager has
replaced Solly at Pulsar and hopefully the operations will be on a much better
focus than over the last few years.

This is a good thing and should prove to be plus for both the builders and
company. Solly was not a plus for Pulsar and prior to this current change, I
would have recommended against the KIS Cruiser or at least recommended purchase
of the entire kit at one time and payment based on NO backordered parts.

I would still recommend watching for the next few months to see how the process
shakes down. I know Rich and while he wasn't the greatest at sales and
promotions of the KIS line of aircraft, he does produce a quality product and
always made sure that everyone got all the parts for their aircraft.

No, my objection is that you would be giving money to a rat *******
that killed a lot of people with inadequate engineering in the BD-5
and 10

Riley, you're still clueless after all these years. The BD-10's crashed
AFTER Bede was removed from the program by the investors, and virtually ALL
the BD-5 crashes are due to pilot error and doing some very stupid things
that stupid pilots do in all kinds of homebuilts (like trying to be a test
pilot after four years of building and zero flying).

destroyed a generation of homebuilders and set the industry back 20 years.

What bull****. I guess Van's should have had 8,000 airplanes flying by now
and EAA should have twice the number of members, and Bede is to blame, eh?
What drugs are you on this week?

The 5 remains a deadly airplane, with a sharp and unforgiving stall, no
occupant protection and an unreliable engine.

More bull****. There are people with 800 to 1500+ hours on their BD-5's. No
BD-5 with a properly shaped wing skin has a sharp stall and the BD-5 stall
even with the _wrong_ skin has NEVER been "unforgiving". Most homebuilts
have as much or as little protection as a BD-5, but obviously you're still
whining about the few bucks you lost so it's not enough. And which
"unreliable" engine are you talking about? The Rotax 582? The Subaru EA-81?
The Honda EB-1 or EB-2? Or are you talking out of your butt yet again?

mercy snip

If it came down to flying a product from Bede and not flying at all, I
would not fly at all.

So stay on the ground and spare us your BS about things of which you don't
have a clue.
