Default Finding Historical Weather Data

I would like to look back at weather data from about two years ago for
a specific day. Does anyone know of a weather database that I could
get this information from for the Western US?

There's a web page with historical METARs he

http://vortex.plymouth.edu/sa_parse-u.html

Pick a state, date, and time, and it shows all reporting stations in the
state and their conditions on that date and time. It goes back to 1998.

For official data, try www.ncdc.noaa.gov
That's where NWS archives their data

www.wunderground provides historical information in (typically) hourly
format. I use that to get altimeter settings for airports. You can
typically enter an airpot ID to get the info. For example:
