Default Thunderbirds to appear at this year's KC Aviation Expo

From the Kansas City Star: "A jet-powered portable toilet" ...hell on
hemorrhoids.

From the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds to a jet-powered portable toilet,
this year's Kansas City Aviation Expo & Airshow will feature a mix of
traditional and unusual fare.

Those were among the acts that air show officials announced Thursday
for the annual event which will be Aug. 23 and 24 at the Wheeler
Downtown Airport.

"It will be a great show and we are very excited about it," said Air
Force Maj. Tony Mulhare, who brought in one of the eight F-16
Thunderbirds that will appear at the show.

The Thunderbirds high-powered jet performance team has performed at
air shows across the country since 1953.

The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team also will perform, as will
air acrobats Tim Weber, Sean Tucker and Jacquie Warda, said air show
director Ed Noyallis.

There will be plenty of entertainment on the ground too, including a
jet-powered school bus and portable toilet that will speed across the
tarmac.

"That should be pretty fun for the kids," Noyallis said.

Tickets will be available for $12 online at www.kcairshow.com and $15
at the gate. Kids 12 and under will get in for free. Active duty
military personnel with proper identification will get in for free on
the morning of Aug. 24.

Perhaps the best thing about this airshow will be Sean Tucker, not the
Thunderbirds or the toilet or anything else. Those who have seen his
performance know what I mean, those who haven't I encourage to seek
and view Mr. Tucker's unbelievable aerobatics wherever he's performing
this year.

You can watch an online performance and see his 2008 show schedule
here;

I've seen the world's best aerobatic performances since the early 70s
and Sean Tucker is perhaps the greatest, most intense I've seen. The
things he does with that biplane...wow!

I plan on going to both of his appearances in Texas this year.
