Default Amazing World Gliding Championships Photos

Not to mention the pilots who have landed gear up, only to get out of the glider and complain that they were completely distracted by that damn buzzer that was going off the whole way down final.

I recall Stan Smith, 2 time national champion explaining exactly why he landed gear up in front of the crowd.

He said " If you had to listen to a screaming buzzer, lots of radio noise, and avoid a whole bunch of people out near the runway running around and waving their arms, you would probably get distracted and forget the gear too".

It brought the house down.
