Flying a motorglider without the engine?

Has anyone out there removed an engine
from a motorglider and then flown it? Anyone? I did it for one season after having a propeller mast breakdown. It required a new removing the nose batteries, adding tail ballast, and a weight & balance. If you are set up to do it 1-2 hours would do. Otherwise you will spend a day. Moffitt also did it for the 1984 15M nationals (also a DG-400). Tom DG-400 |
