Does Fishing Get Any Better Than This?
Chris wrote:

Apparently Saddam kept the lake well stocked for his amusement. The T/Sgt doing the fishing said in his letter that the MREs made excellent bait, and the trout he caught made an excellent replacement for the MREs. -Marc -- Marc Reeve actual email address after removal of 4s & spaces is c4m4r4a4m4a4n a4t c4r4u4z4i4o d4o4t c4o4m |

I would wager the MRE cost the taxpayers a damn sight more than $1.50, and that rod -- even without the reel -- rather more than $20. But it's still funny and entirely apposite in Field & Stream. -- Andrew Chaplin SIT MIHI GLADIUS SICUT SANCTO MARTINO (If you're going to e-mail me, you'll have to get "yourfinger." out.) |

If he had a way to keep trout alive in a shallow lake/pond during the 120+ degree summer temperatures, then we could have trout all over Texas instead of just boat and tackle shows and a few put-n-take streams. -- Ken Fowler, wa5bru | Real Klingons STILL klfowler AT sdf.lonestar.org | don't use .signature files |

Of course the price they list for the MRE is way off. ;-) |
