Great photo. It appeared in the latest issue of _Field & Stream_, though
without the pseudo-MasterCard tagline.

Apparently Saddam kept the lake well stocked for his amusement. The
T/Sgt doing the fishing said in his letter that the MREs made excellent
bait, and the trout he caught made an excellent replacement for the
MREs.

I would wager the MRE cost the taxpayers a damn sight more than $1.50,
and that rod -- even without the reel -- rather more than $20.

But it's still funny and entirely apposite in Field & Stream.

We really need to find Saddam. If he had a way to keep trout alive in
a shallow lake/pond during the 120+ degree summer temperatures, then
we could have trout all over Texas instead of just boat and tackle shows
and a few put-n-take streams.

Of course the price they list for the MRE is way off. ;-)
