i always like how brits will claim they designed it. it was a pure north
american aircraft corp design. the brits first bought it and they get credit
for the merlin engine, but even those were made here by packard and
improved upon.

They never claim they designed it, but they did issue the specs. How could
Packard ever improve a Merlin?

Another few "brit" initiations.

1. Mirror Landing System - throw away your bats lads.

2. Angled Flight Decks.

3. Armoured Flight Decks.

4. Steam Catapults.

And

5. Missile Silos.

Think very carefully before you jump in.

Apart from the almost 200 that were made by CAC in Melbourne in 1944 - 46
