Zionsts commit another massacre in Gaza, scores of Palestinians killed, maimed

Occupied Jerusalem - At least 14 Palestinians were killed and as many as
25 others were maimed and injured Wednesday when Israeli occupation forces
raided two heavily populated Gaza neighborhoods in eastern Gaza.

Palestinian sources said Israeli troops, backed by armored personnel carriers
and a number of helicopter gunships attacked the Shujaiya neighborhood, on
Gaza’s eastern outskirts under the pretext of wanting to capture resistance
fighters.

“They were shooting heavily and indiscriminately on civilians. They were
acting like Gestapo. They are the Nazis of our time,” said Ahmad Abu Muhammed,
a Gaza journalist who lives in the shujaiya area.

“ They apparently wanted to kill as many people as possible.”

Medical sources said the number of victims was likely to rise as a number
of people injured in the rampage were fightig for their lives.

At least 25 other civilians were injured, three seriously.

Some Palestinian sources have suggested that the purpose of the latest incursion
was to assassinate a leading Hamas figure, probably Hamas’ founder and spiritual
leader Sheikh Ahmed Yasin.

In Rafah, at the southern edge of the Gaza Strip, Israeli occupation forces
destroyed a medical lab and a number of homes in the nearly completely devastated
town.

The troops opened fire indiscriminately on Palestinian civilians in the area,
injuring as many as 8 people, including two who sustained serious-to-critical
gunshot wounds.

Rafah, which has been the target of almost daily devastating attacks by the
Israeli army, now looks like an earthquake-stricken town, with thousands
of homes demolished by Israeli bulldozers.

Some Palestinians and human rights organizations have compared the havoc
and destruction wreaked by Israel on Palestinian towns during the past forty
months to the Nazi holocaust during the second world war.

Palestinian sources accused Sharon of seeking to provoke Palestinian resistance
groups to carry out retaliatory human bombings in order to help the Zionist
regime justify the building of the gigantic apartheid wall on Palestinian
land in the West Bank.

The Israeli occupation army routinely carry out bloody incursions into Palestinian
population centers in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, often resulting in the
killing and maiming of many innocent civilians.

In return, Palestinians, who don’t have an army of their own and lack the
most elementary military means to protect themselves from Israeli savagery,
often seek to deter Israel by carrying out human bombing attacks against
Israeli targets.

Palestinians justify these bombings, arguing that they are their sole and
only means of defense and deterrence against a far more powerful enemy that
is intent on destroying and expelling them for their ancestral homeland.
