Default Last Operational P-51

I was stationed at Edwards AFB with the Army from 1976 till 1983 when
the last operational P-51 was still flying there. I might have been
the last "regular" G.I. to have worked on 990. Before Col. Boyle took
off with it, I applied a commemorative plaque on one of the main
landing gear struts. Hopefully, the plaque is still on it.
