Default AD list?

I am in the market for a Sport Aviation plane. How do I find out what AD
apply to a plane? Is there a web site somewhere that lists the ADs for a
given plane?

Not really. That information is very expensive. You can browse through
ADs and see what you can find but a proper AD search requires AD
search software. I believe the IA's pay around $2,000/yr for that
software.

Thanks for the link. I found the place for aircraft types. Is their a place
in this link to look for ADs for an engine?

The information is public and can be found online. The $2,000 covers
the cost of bringing it all together for all aircraft into one easy to
search user interface. But if your only dealing with one specific plane
it's not a big deal.

I found the link provided by BDS to be able to find any aircraft without a
problem. Can you comment on this link?

The link is very useful but not a complete search. A full AD search
would ask you for the serial number of the prop, hub, engine,
airframe, avionics, etc. However, a good prebuy should include an AD
search. When you get a full AD search make sure the IA puts a copy of
the results in the log book so you know what ADs may be coming up. I
have some on my Mooney that are every 1000 or 500 hours that I
otherwise forget.

It depends on how much you work at it. For me, I have 1 airplane, 2
prop blades, 1 hub, 8 pieces of avioncs, plus accessories. Having the
softeware produce my AD list is very useful. The online stuff is good
to get an idea of what types of ADs effect different aircraft
(although not nearly as good as asking on a type list) but certainly
not good enough for a prebuy.
