Default New and updated IGC-approval documents for GNSS Flight Recorders

I am pleased to announce that with effect from today, 25 November 2003,
some new and updated IGC-approval documents take effect and will appear
in full on the gliding/gnss web site shortly.

These are as follows:

Cambridge Aero Instruments Inc.
facility at Horn Lake, Memphis, Mississippi
This includes IGC-approvals for the 302 series and the legacy models 10,
20 and 25. These are new IGC-approval documents because the Horn Lake
address has not appeared before in IGC-approvals. However, after they
contacted us, examples of their production standard have now been tested
by GFAC and we are in a position to issue IGC-approval documents in the
normal way.

Cambridge LLC (CAM LLC)
facility at Martinsville Virginia
The Martinsville address has appeared in IGC-approvals since the ENL
system addition to the 302 series approval in January 2003. These are
therefore modified approval documents rather than new ones.

To avoid duplication
The Martinsville operation has been allocated new manufacturer codes so
that recorders from this facility can be distinguished from those from
Horn Lake. These codes are included in the approval document but for
your information a
Manufacturer codes: Three-letter, CLC (short for CAM LLC). One letter,
M (Martinsville) and binary files for the legacy recorders *.CLC.

The web site that will shortly have the full IGC-approval documents is:

http://www.fai.org/gliding/gnss/igc_approved_frs.pdf

If there are any questions I will be able to answer them only until 27
November after which I will be abroad and off-line until 11 December.
