Default Whaddat?

I believe Wiley Coyote is sitting on top.

This is capped from an episode of the original Outer Limits,
"The Architects of Fear." I think it's stock footage of a
Regulus 2 cruise missile, but I'm not certain. Can anyone
identify this bird?

The AQM-60A was a high-speed target drone.

Is this a Lockheed bird? I was watching a show on the History channel once
that talked about the ramjet drones that flew faster than the missles that
the aircraft were using to try an knock them down.

That's the AQM-60 "Kingfisher." There's more information at

http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/m-60.html

It was a Lockheed missile, and developed out of Lockheed's X-7.
designation-systems.net says it was too successful for its own good,
and cancelled because it was almost impossible for American SAMs
to hit it during tests. It had a top speed of Mach 4.3 and a maximum
altitude of 100,000 feet (30,000 meters).

This is almost certianly a Bomarc in boost phase with the ramjets just
starting to generate thrust. The short wing and rearward postion of
the wing would rule out any of the earlier subsonic cruise type
missiles. Paul

I wish I could post a clip of the footage, instead of just an image.
The footage lasts several seconds and gives more information
than the cap. The exhaust plume from the main engine looks
like the flame from a BOMARC, but I can only see one secondary
exhaust trail from what would be two ramjets on the BOMARC
(although one may be obscured by the rest of the image).

Sounds like you're experienced (or at least capable) in tightrope walking
across the Niagra Falls....

Looks a little like an Army Hawk from the 1960's and 70's
