Default Any Info On Legend Cub Down Near Chicago?

CHICAGO -- The cause of the plane crash Sunday afternoon in Lake Michigan
could have been engine failure.

A spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Authority said the agency received a
message from the people aboard the plane before it crashed.

"We received a message from them this afternoon, relayed through the Gary,
Ind., control tower. They said they may be having problems with the engine
and may be going into the lake. We then alerted the Coast Guard," said FAA
spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory.

"We're investigating, as is the NTSB," she added.

The crash occurred about three miles offshore at 6500 S. Lake Shore Dr. at
around 5 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said.

Langford said the plane departed from Oshkosh, Wisc., and was headed to a
small town south of Cleveland, Ohio.

The male pilot, who is still missing, was flying an American Legend Cub
plane, Langford said.

Langford said the fire department, police department and Coast Guard will
resume the search for the pilot, who is believed to be in his 60s, at 9 a.m.
Monday.

The male passenger pulled from the water, also thought to be in his 60s, was
taken to the hospital in "very good condition," Langford said.

Langford said the passenger has probably been released from the hospital. He
did not know which hospital treated the man.

Last night on the news they said the two men were from Sulphur Springs, TX,
which is where Legend is located...
