Default Cambridge Aero Explorer Fix

The Cambridge Aero Explorer is not ready to be taken out and shot just yet.
While it might not be as refined as SeeYou or Strepla, it is *free* and it
does provide the tightest and most complete integration with the Cambridge
Recorder Boxes.

I have fixed the 2004/1994 date rollover problem and have put the updated
version on my download page:

http://www.betsybyars.com/guy/winscore/download.html

Note that the version available for download here is the never before
released "Plus" version of the program. This version contains numerous
extra features that Cambridge didn't want to support, so they were removed
from the version that Cambridge distributes. Now that Cambridge is no
longer supporting this program, they might as well not support the Plus
version too. Such extra features include:

Flight analysis, speeds distances... etc.
Turn Area Task Analysis
Interactive distance measuring on the screen between points.
Overlay of flights onto scanned maps.
3-D Flight viewing and rotations (again, not as nice as SeeYou, but again,
its free)

These features are documented in the file "Plus User's Guide.pdf" which is
in the folder where the program is installed.

Many thanks Guy! Anyone using CAE will appreciate the features of the
plus version and now I don't have to keep my beta test copy a secret.

Guy,

There appears to be a problem with the executable. I get a message
that says the program can't find MFC42D.dll.

Looking on the Microsoft site, it appears you are using the debug
version of the MFC42.dll file and need to recompile to use the release
version.

Thanks,

Bill Richardson

I've just downloaded the program and it installs and
runs fine on my computer. Thanks Guy.

The problem was on my end and it has been fixed. Download the program again
and reinstall it.

I see you not only fixed the date problem but also updated the task
analysis to support area tasks. A very nice enhancement on the
original unreleased "plus" version.

Two MATs (with 1 mile areas) that I flew last weekend, when analysed
with new CAE, showed distances and speeds within .01 of those returned
by the current version of Winscore.

thanks

Well, actually, the Winscore scoring program and the CAE share the same
flight analysis code, so the speeds and distances should be the same.

On the one hand, it is nice to have a completely different flight analysis
program to cross check the scoring program. But on the other hand it is
nice to have a flight analysis program with a well tested and scrutinized
analysis code.
