Harry's trailer problem: SOLVED!
Hello everyone,
Remember a while back that I was having problems with the incredibly long, tall, narrow, light trailer that I built to haul my Wright Brothers machine? If you have forgotten, that wonderfully practical (cheap) trailer had a tendancy to roll faster than a Pitts in a crosswind. Remember that went over twice? Well, for the past two years, its been tied down in a storage lot doing little more than alternately housing the lawn mower and the snow blower. Well fellas, I've finally solved that little problem. How you may ask? By scanning and classifing old H. R. documents... for fourteen months. See, up until last month, the Univ. of CO paid me lots to do that sort of work. Before my shift, after it, on weekends, in the middle of the night, till I got sick, several times. And I saved all of that excess income. Then, taking advantage of the down market and Craigslist, I purchased one 2004 Haulmark 8.5x20' "Race Transport" enclosed trailer. Ramp door, Polar white, 7k GRVW. Yea, she's sweet. And she'll look even better once it gets warm enough to wash, wax, and polish her. The glider ought to be pretty happy with its new home. Now all I've got to do is find a few customers for the exhibit. That will come next year perhaps. For now, both the new and old trailers remain safely stored. Gotta git rid of all of this snow first. But the old trailer is scheduled to be dismantled, shortened back to 8' and rebuilt into a teardrop camper. Harry |

Harry: You probably know about this Wright Flyer demo flight film, but just
in case... The below is a post stolen from ras: Vaughn Excellent historical film of a 1909 demo flight by the Wright brothers in France, including a short segment from an on-board camera. http://www.europafilmtreasures.eu/PY...que.htm?ID=322 Note the presence of yaw strings on the forward elevator!
