Default DUO DISCUS REAR SEAT

I am going to be flying in a Duo Discus from the rear
seat in the near future. Since I am fairly large, 6'1',
245lbs, I am wondering about the weight limitations
and the size of the rear seat. Can anyone help?

Thanks!
GORDY

You are probably over the seat weight limitation with a parachute, but a
co-owner of another Duo out here weighs more. There's plenty of room in
the back (but not the front). We re-rigged the rear rudder pedals so
they lean farther forward than the stock position (they are still within
the tolerances specified by the maintenance manual). This makes the
rear seat more comfortable for taller pilots.

My ex syndicate Duo had a front and rear seat load
maximum limit of 110kg irrespective of C of G position.
Perhaps read the small print on the glider insurance
before flying outwith the terms of the type certificate
- if that is the case.

Gordon,

The Duo is placarded for a maximum of 243 lbs in the rear seat. Have fun.
