Default Metric aircraft countersunk machine screws

The empty package says 4 mm and a 4 mm screw from the hardware store screws in perfectly. Sooo I am guessing it’s a 4 mm screw....

Well, in that case, let us know what standard that strange screw is when you find it.

Does anyone have a source for metric aircraft countersunk machine screws? Similar to MS24693S28. They need to be aircraft hardware store screws have the wrong taper on them. This is for Blanik L-23 & L-33’s.

Yeah I didn’t punctuate that correctly. It should have read- “ They need to be aircraft screws. Hardware store screws have the wrong taper on them.

One example a part number of a countersunk metric screw is 22256BC040010L.
22256 is the type of screw,
BC is the metal type,
040 is the diameter,
010 is the length,
If you google the part, number lots of suppliers come up. If you need a few, contact a helicopter operator that maintains Eurocopter Astar AS350 helicopters. There are thousands in the US, if that is where you are. there may be one close to see what you are getting.

When I had my beloved L33, I tried to track these down with no success. I spent a lot of time hunting and ordering what seemed to be close. Nothing was close. Only source was through Blanik and they were priced somewhere near $20 each from Czech Republic. They were for an inspection panel cover so I decided to go with the wrong taper and negate my OCD.

When I needed a batch of metric screws with 100-degree countersink, I just sharpened a bunch of hardware store 90-degree screws on my lathe. Took maybe a minute each.
