Has anyone besides me noticed that SeeYou 4 (desktop version) has been
released? It's a bit confusing becuase the date next to the link on
Naviter's website is shown as 2010 instead of 2011, but it really is a
new release. Also, you have to select the SeeYou entry on the
Download or Products menu because there isn't (yet) a headline on the
home page.

There are some cool new features, including automatic update of
airspace and vector maps. There is a nice new style for display of
airspace data. There is an export feature for Google Maps (KML). And
there also appears to be support for the current OLC rules.

It's not only dated 2010, it's also dated 1 April. I therefore thought
it was a joke and didn't download it. Guess the joke's on me...

Is this an upgrade to Release 3.XX, or does Release 4.0 require a new
license key to be purchased?

It will be an upgrade you purchase to 4.0, as in previous major
releases and as I understand it at previous prices.

I believe 4.0 was put up quietly (not so now I guess!) and more
announcements and the changes on the store to buy liceses and upgrades
will happen soon. Until then you can use the two week free evaluation
license.

I've been using it for a few days and am impressed. I like the
direction of streaming download and caching of vector maps and city/
road data. KML/KMZ output is something I've been asking for so thanks
Naviter for doing that! Lots of other little things that make it look
like a nice upgrade.

Hi,

To use version 4.x, you need to buy an upgrade - unless you purchased SeeYou
for PC or an upgrade in the last year.
You can buy upgrades he
