SSA competitions are scored with WINSCORE and publishes results to the SSA website. Furthermore, the SSA website is used for contest registration and allows WINSCORE to easily download information that greatly reduces administration tasks.

Soaring Spot website was established and is maintained by Naviter, the developers of the SeeYou family of products. To utilize Soaring Spot the contest must be scored with SeeYou competition. Currently SeeYou competition supports FAI scoring and rules *not* SSA scoring and rules. Yes SeeYou competition allows customization via scripts but not all SSA scoring and rules nuances can be handled.

IMO at some point the SSA needs to align with the rest of world by adopting the FAI scoring and rules. Yes I have used both to score contests.

Because no one has scripted the US Rules to work in SeeYou Competition.

Not true Tony, it has been tried and somewhere in the low 90th percentile was achieved. MAT's are not supported, out the top of the start cylinder is not supported (though Naviter did provide a special copy of SeeYou Comp for Uvalde but the code never survived), and some distance calculations are different.

It has been a few years so I do not recall all the details.

The US needs to get off their own island and join the rest of the world and use FAI rules and scoring

I think you may be mistaken. See You scores using a user defined script.

Ron, I think you may be mistaken again. UK comps allow starts out the top
of the start cylinder and See You scores them.

Jim, thanks for the correction, I stand corrected on that point. It has been 5 years since I used SeeYou so things have progressed.
