Default Avation Museums etc. in New Zealand???

Will be visiting New Zealand and would like to know what
aviation/transportation museums are available and recommended. We will be
on the South Island near Queenstown. Thanks for any info.

I've added aus.aviation

Most obviously, NZ Fighter Pilots Museum at Wanaka (I've never
actually been there myself, although I have seen most of the aircraft
flying at various events). If you are there at Easter, I hope your
accommodation is already sorted!

Also Kingston Flyer Steam Train

In Christchurch

I'm sure there are some smaller ones that locals know about. Phil

Asburton isn't that far from Christchurch.

If you are doing more than changing planes in Auckland, we have
MOTransportAndTechnology (Airfield with Sunderland, Lancaster, FAA
section plus main site with trains and stuff), National Maritime
Museum, and Auckland War Memorial Museum (Zero and Spitfire).
