Default Col. (Ret) Rene Goldberger (Personal Artifacts)

A friend of mine has come into possession of the personal career artifacts
of Colonel (Retired) Rene "Rambo" Goldberger. I've been authorized to spread
the word to see if anyone is interested in any parts of this
collection...located in Langley, B.C., Canada. I just viewed what he has,
and it's...well...interesting.

Before I get too deep, anyone heard of this guy?

He appears to have worked freely between Canada and the US...as evidenced by
drivers licences from Quebec, Ontario, and New Jersey. Various business
cards have him listed as: Air Transport Pilot, Avionics Systems Engineer,
and there's also a business card from the Canadian Department of National
Defence. (I thought I scooped it up, but can't find it.) He was some sort of
weapons development dude. Nowhere was I able to find any service records for
Canada or the US, but there was evidence (Besides "Colonel") of a military
career, and a lot of connections to military people. Appeared to be heavily
into aircraft radio communications, as well. Also seems to have been
involved with the "Global Sky Warriors."

Most (at least 80%) of this stuff is civil, covering approx. late 1950's to
2002. The oldest military piece is a photo with a C-46.

Includes:

* Over 100 QSL Cards from the 50's and 60's (I kept the ones from Lieutenant
General Francis H. Griswold, Vice Commander in Chief, Strategic Air Command
[1960...mentions "Aeronautical Mobile VC-97 92595" / K0DWC], and the one
from the Royal Air Force Amateur Radio Society [G3KHZ] with a lovely Avro
Vulcan B.1 on it.)
* Paperwork, including professional certificates.
* Many books (at least 20) that would fall under the category of "Middle
East Conflict", including biographies of Israeli participants.
* Photos and memorabilia, including a photo with Canadian Prime Minister
Brian Mulroney.
* Logbooks.
* A T-34 Exam (Question #4.."Can the mixture control lever be moved to the
idle cut-off position from the rear seat?)
* A plaque with the wording of Buzz Beurling's D.S.O Citation.
* Jackets (non-military, but kinda' look like it) with very interesting
badges.
* The obligitory hat collection. (Some appear to be new.)
* Professional civilian flying clothing.

Mr. Goldberger appears to have been a member of a large number of aviation
organizations. His "Professional Member" list includes 25 organizations,
including, but not limited to:

ADPA
ANA
CAF (Colonel)
CAP (USAF Maxwell)
CFPA
NAA
RCAFA
SAE
SETP
SNAME

Sounds like Mr. Goldberger lived quite a life.

There's about 10 cubic feet of stuff in boxes. I'll be at the Aviation
Collectables Expo in Vancouver this weekend (but not as an exhibitor) with
some examples of this stuff. Drop me a note if any of this stuff interests
you, and you're going to be there. If you're interested in seeing the
collection, drop me a note and I'll get you in touch with who you need to
get in touch with.

WE'RE NOT LOOKING TO GET RICH...we just want the suff to go to a good home,
if it's wanted at all.

ZW
