Hi all,

I'm planning a trip to Bullhead City for July 6. Never been there. Any
hints for a smooth VFR arrival from Southern California?

Just make sure your crosswind skills are up to snuff, everytime I have been
there the wind has been howling.

(And not always down the runway.)

Easy flight. Its gets windy sometimes but its usually right down the runway
.. The runway is real wide also.

You may enjoy touring the WW-II Desert Training Center Sky Trail en

Click "Pilots Guide" on the right side of the banner.

There you will find information on the largest military training
center in the world created by General George S. Patton, Jr. in April
1942 to train troops for this nation's invasion of North Africa.

depending were in SoCal you are coming from.. alter course a bit to the
south rather than a straight to airport arrival.. some thing between the
Needles VOR and straight to the airport.. sets you up for a slower let down
into the valley and a chance to see the airport before you are diving on it.

Been a while since I've been there... but you can park on the west side..
taxi down a steep slopped taxi way to the bottom. Park, walk across the road
and take the river ferry over to the casinos.. it was a free service.

heheh, its too late in the year for a "smooth" arrival. Expect turb in
that area until November (or later). I used to stop there for gas when
making routing flights from Sacramento to Tucson.
