Default Tailwheel Instruction near elmira, ny?

Hey guys,
I am desperately looking for a place that does tailwheel instruction
within 100 miles of Elmira, NY.

Anybody out there that can help me out?
Thanks!

Arrow Aviation in Danbury CT does this.

That's 250 miles away, way to far :-(
I really need something where I can go to after school...

There used to be a school at Penn Yan, with J-3 cubs.. I do not know if they
are still there.

I could recommend a summer vacation to Hampton Beach NH, and fly the J-3s,
L-4s off their grass runway.

"too"

It will give you an excuse to get into a nosewheel airplane and fly some
cross country.

There's a list of Cub-friendly airports and Cub instruction (there are
other kinds of taildragging, of course) at
www.pipercubforum.com/friendly.htm

The "Cub Clues" newsletter of the Cub Club in every issue lists
tailwheel instructors in various places.

The notion of spending a week at Hampton NH 7B3 is another way to go.
You might also look at Andover Flight Academy in New Jersey (a pretty
place, very rural) where Damian Delgaizo has a Super Cub and an L-4
for training, and is looking to get a new Cub Sport from Cub Crafters
this summer.

(Did anyone ever use "Cub" so many times in one post?)

I recall 3-4 years ago Arrow had a Texas Taildragger C-152 conversion,
(long gone) but after reading your post I gave them a call. They have a
J-3 for $99/hr and their CFI rate for that plane is $43/hr. Once I'm
through with this ATP stuff I'll have to get over there for the TW
endorsement. Been wanting to do that for years now...

I keep my Lance at DXR, do you have a plane there Jose??

Would you like somebody to keep the engine warm?

I'm a member of the Flying 20 club, which is based there.

You might want to contact East Hill Flying Club at Ithaca, NY
(http://ithacanet.org/Orgs/EHFC/). It's nearby and they just bought a
Citabria and plan to have instruction up and running soon.
Good luck,

Flying 5-6 hours every week practicing for the ATP ride is doing a good
job of that G
