Folks, I'm doing an informal survey. How many of you are members of a club that still has a 1-26 in your club fleet?

VSC in NY has 1-26E for all members and 1-26 SN2 normally reserved for juniors at 0 cost.

Looking through logbooks after the Open Cockpit Regatta Jan 1st, really expected the 1-26 A/B/C/D/E to top the list of different gliders of one model flown. Turned out to be the Twin Grob 1/2/3.
Seems that more 1-26s are privately owned gliders now than ~30 years ago when you could rent one anywhere for ten or fifteen dollars an hour.

The Finger Lakes Soaring Club in Dansville, NY has a 1-26A Serial Number 78. Recovered and Refurbished in 2012. Looks new and always fun to fly.

FAA Registry shows 435 Schweizer 1-26 (A to E) Registered. Wonder how many are actually flying?

Merlin Soaring in central VA has one (E model #655 I think) that we have been restoring. Expect it to be back in service this spring!
