Hi all in US-glider land,

would anyone have a copy of an installation or maintenance manual or
wiring diagram for a Terra TPX 720 radio? I got a hold of an old unit
which I would like to install on the panel of our winch. It used to be
installed in a tow plane and it has two plugs on the bottom besides
the the 'Phone' and 'Mic' jacks. One of them seems to be for the power
supply (polarized plug, black and red wire) and the other one is
rectangular and has 5 pins inside. I suspect that this plug was tied
to the PTT. Anyhow, any info is appreciated.

I do not have the complete inside schematic diagram for repairs.
All I have is the diagram for the external connections which I sent to you today.

The Terra 720 is an old radio. Heavy. Maybe OK for winch driver or the crew vehicle.
You might find better used handheld radios on eBay.com

DEC 2, 2014: See these used ICOM IC A4 units for $125 on eBay. Very simple. (I am not the seller.)

Connect a VHF handheld radio to a tall Larsen 5/8 wave magnetic mount antenna on top of your vehicle for much greater range. (A proper antenna is the secret!) Find at:
