Default Fossett's reported fuel shortage

Just a thought but wouldn't this add to the interest
level which seems to be low? I didn't really say that!

Exactly my thoughts on this. Bit like Ellen Macarthur's lose of time on her
recent round the
world sail, even if her's was weather related (it did get attention
though!!)

Nobody got interested in Voyager, other than aviation enthusiasts,
until it looked like it would run out of gas. Reason for crisis- fuel
gages.

Just read this on CNN and thought it was kind of funny considering he
has yet to set a record solo in a glider. Someone needs to inform
Richard that Terry is the worlds best when Steve is in the other
seat.....

(snip) "Knowing Steve, if he runs out of fuel short of the airport,
he's one of the world's best glider pilots and the plane would be
capable of actually gliding for 50 miles at the end," said mission
sponsor Richard Branson, who heads Virgin Atlantic.
