Default Incorporating Electronic Tension Meter in Auto Tow Hitch?

We have ordered one of the "s" shaped electronic tension meters for
our auto tow operations. We want to make the strain guage a part of
the tow hitch (not in the rope). If anyone has a good design, we
would like suggestions. A picture would also be nice.

All you need to do is run the rope thru guide rollers so that it feeds
horizontally from the tow release. Then the tow release can be bolted
directly to the transducer.

Bill,

I just forwarded all the images from Udo's system. It was very well
designed and elegant.

Bill,

I sent the images of Udo's system in a PM. The only change I would
make is to put the strain gage in line with the rope. This could be
done similar to the images with a sliding parallelogram to support
side loads.

The unit we ordered came Industrial Commercial Scales, 2020 Air Park
Road, North Charleston , SC 29406.

It was a CCS-2K 2000lb s- type

We have not installed or used the unit yet.
