I have a Garmin GPS II+, which only holds 500 waypoints, so I have to
trim the TP list before loading it into the GPS. I use TPSelect to
generate a turnpoint file containing a suitable selection of
turnpoints. It reads the "Waypoints in ASCII format" file and saves
selected waypoints in a variety of formats including EWview and
PCX5AVD 2.05 formats. Follow links from the turnpoints page in the BGA
website to get it.

I use flexGPS to load an PCX5AVD format waypoint file into my Garmin
GPS. flexGPS can be downloaded from
http://home.t-online.de/home/flexgps/ and is straight forward to use
provided that you know that its waypoint viewing and uploading
functions are totally separate:

- You can load a waypoint file into it and zoom into the display, see
details if selected turnpoints, etc OR you can copy a file from disk
into your Garmin or vice versa.

- You cannot display a TP file, select some TPs and expect to save
them or send them to your Garmin.

Both these are Windows programs that work fine under Win95 and should
therefore be OK under 98 or ME - I don't know if they work with W2K or
XP.
