Striking pictures of the clouds around a volcano as seen from space.

Sadly, no mention of the variometer reading from that thermal.

Default Volcanic Plume & Clouds

Looks like the gentle "wave" cloud you often see to the upper/windward
side of a good cumulus cloud? Clouds come and go for the slighest
atmospheric disturbance, so great journalism, and a stunning picture.

It would be interesting to know if the upwards velocity was greater than
the 100-200 mph achieved in most cu-nim.

Instead of a pyrocumulus, now we have a pyrolennie or pyrocompression
cloud. Fantastic shots, lucky timing.
