12,300' runway...and it sounds like they will need
every inch of it.

I would like to meet their local congressman....how
the heck did they get a runway that big out there?

O'K...don't want to sound realy stupid but....I thought that the
Voyager captured the around globe flight with Dick Rutan and Jeanna
Yeager....what is Global Flyer going to accomplish here, can anybody
explain?

It use to be a SAC base. See:

12K runways are the common length for SAC bases.
