LX Nav Varios, Bluetooth & XCSoar
Questions have been asked about both LXNav and LX Navigation devices. Most recently the questions have been in relation to the S10 and S100 which are both LXNav products.
Have you tried using the XCSoar LXNav driver with an LX Navigation device? It works. Nick. LX Navigation has not been helpful to the XCSoar team and so doen't get much in the way of attention from the developers. I just checked the list of device drivers in XCSoar and there is nothing with the LX Navigation device listed. On the other hand, every LXNav device I've used works with the software. Mike B. |

I'm running an Eos which (sometimes) speaks to my Samsung S9 running
XC soar. I use XC soar as a back up to the Zeus and it's handy for getting a heading up display which the Zeus currently doesn't do. (windy here) I get mount problems with Bluetooth if I let the phone pair with the Bose Speaker in the glider before it mounts the Eos output. Switching the speaker off, re-booting the phone. Mount the Eos stack then the Bose stack seems to work ok. Bluetooth is a bit iffy on multiple device connections. YMMV, or you may be confusing the stack less by not having in flight entertainment throwing a spanner in the works. |

I'm the one JS was referring to when the LX NAV S100 paired and worked with my Nokia 8 Android phone and LK8000 software. It works beautifully... but. You have to spend some time at the desk testing all this and making sure the operator (me) understands how to pair on the Nokia 8 and get it working with my Flight Software LK8000. Once understood, it all works just fine.
Last summer at the Standard Nationals I used my Nokia 8 and LK8000 to fly for 100 full days with no problem. Just remember to test the connection and demonstrate it's working well before getting into the cockpit. For this contest I used a Nano and it's BT with my Nokia 8 and LK8000. |

Power was from a "Juice" 5V battery in the side pocket of my D2a. I'm convinced that connecting with BT is reliable enough these days. It's a lot simpler than a wired connection with IOIO-OTG boxes for Android. It even works with my Vertica V2. Walt Rogers |

I’m using a Borgelt Bluetooth blade, which combines FLARM and Vario data and sends them combined bluetooth, with Lenovo TAB 7 XCSoar Works very well with a minimum of configuration.
The Borgelt blade can handle up to 3 data sources, combine them and forward on Bluetooth. I carry a stand-alone Sony Z3 as a fully independent back up.. Mike pre configures the devices for the blade when you order. |

Hi,
The K6BtMux can also be used to combine FLARM and vario data and send it over Bluetooth. http://cumulus-soaring.com/k6.htm#K6BtMux But the K6BtMux is not required when using an LXNAV S100 or similar. The S100 receives the FLARM data and forwards it to the display over Bluetooth, along with vario and airspeed and other data.
