Yes, far too much for those of us not interested! Have a look in scenery at
FSimCafe.com they have tons there for all over the world.

Look on http://www.virtualsoaring.org/goto.html where you will find a link
to 'Cross Country Soaring'
This program will enable you to add thermal and ridge lift to the MSTS
scenery.

If doing this yourself seems daunting, there are some ready-made files under
the 'Scenery' area.
