Default New Lycoming Install

I have a new Lycoming install I I just noticed that the alternator is
too close to the cowling. I see that If I can get a shorter belt for it
that I can move it up & out of the way. All I need is 1/2". Anyone know
where I can purchase a shorter belt? I can't seem to find one from the
usual sources except for the standard length.

Thanks,
Evan Carew

You don't say whether this is a homebuilt or not, but I
had the same problem on my RV-4. I got a shorter belt
from the airplane parts desk at the local AutoZone,
not coincidentally the same airplane parts desk where I
got the alternator.

Any place that sell automotive fanbelts should be able to help you. They
come in a lot of sizes.
