Default Saline Valley, California

Does anyone know if the Chicken Strip in Saline Valley, California is currently
open? http://www.pilotgetaways.com/SalineValley/

It is within Death Valley National Park and National Park Services has been
talking about closing it for sometime. What is the current status? If it is
open, how is the condition of the airstrip? Thanks.
