A&P cert# search

Does anyone know of a database I can use to find an A&P's name?
His signature in my log book is not legible, but I can read his certificate
number.
I found one search on Landings that will search by name/city/state, etc.
I don't know his name or city, just state and cert#.

Adam, I believe that you can search via cert# on the faa web site,
http://registry.faa.gov but it seems to be broken right now.
