Regret that Eric Beard of "Russian Thunder" died this weekend after
crashing a Piper twin in low viz. He crashed into trees 400ft short of
the runway.

He was a very talented airshow pilot and did a great aerial nighttime
fireworks display. He was a great ambassador for aviation and always
spent lots of time chatting with the crowd after his show. He had lots
of time for kids and would give them autographed photographs of him
with his plane.

Further info - Google News - Eric Beard - lots there.
