My chart subscription is with joepilot.com, and they sent me a notice over
a month ago saying I had to tell them what new charts to send or they'd
cancel my subscription. That's another way to solve the labour problem.

Yep, cancel everyone's subscription so that there is no need for employees.

The resellers can't tell by looking at your subscription how much of the
covered area you actually use. If they replaced your subscription with
charts that covered every corner of every chart you previously had, you
most likely would end up with charts you didn't need. The best person
to determine what he needs under the new layout is the user.

That said, I've looked at the charts with an eye to the territory I
usually cover. I can't say that I like the new ones, as it seems that
before most of my flights here in the Northeast could be made with just
one chart (not necessarily the same one). Now, most of my distant
destinations require me to use two charts. PVD to IPT, for example. IPT
was on L25 (right at the edge) as was PVD. None of the new charts have
both airports on it.

I think those who subscribed direct from NACO got the entire collection
of charts with this cycle so they could figure out what to renew.

My co-owner only subscribes to L-25 (Southern New England). The
company that does his subscription, who shall remain nameless, sent him
ONLY the new L-25, which is now Knoxville / Chattanooga. He also still
pays ~ $7 top ship one chart.

He never switched to NACO when I sent him the link! G
