Default Pilot Schedule: Excellent soaring club scheduling and communication service

After a lot of research last winter Utah Soaring Association switched our glider scheduling and communications (email) software to Pilot Schedule (pilotschedule.com). The support has been great ... they have added features we needed. The cost is less than we were paying before for our old service, with more features.

Here are the features we use:

1. Flexible resources to schedule in any combination: gliders, instructors, tow planes, winch, etc. We have the $50/month plan, which schedules up to 15 resources that can be split between two "clubs" if desired. We use the 2nd "club" for tow plane reservations, which has different privileges and members compared to our glider club.

2. Scheduling settings allow for great flexibility: (see a screenshot at https://freeimage.host/i/pilotschedule.2xZuSf)
Maximum hrs for one reservation. e.g. 6 hrs
Minimum hrs for one reservation. e.g. 1 hr
Maximum hrs reserved in future. e.g. 6 hrs
Maximum days in advance to reserve. e.g. 30 days
Daily max hrs. e.g. 4 hrs on Mon-Fri, 2 hrs on Sat, Sun
Late reservation window. e.g. 24 hrs. If a reservation's start time is within the "window" from now, daily max limits are ignored. We want the gliders to be used, so if no one has reserved by a day before, a member can reserve many hours (e.g. 6 hrs on an empty Saturday instead of 2).

3. Club directory including emergency contact information can be made visible to all members

4. Any member can email the entire club or individuals

5. "Guest" role:Â* a member who can view everything, receive and send mass emails but reserve nothing. This lets our tow pilots see schedules and inactive members get club emails without reservation privileges.

We're not getting anything for promoting this. It's a thanks for good service and passing the word on about it. You can request a 30 day free trial. There are four plans that are month-to-month and can be cancelled anytime.

Bret
