Default Berra Airport- No Ordinary Airport

Berra Airport in Scotland is one of the most spectacular and beautiful airports in the world, it's also one of it's kind. What makes this airport so unique is that planes land simply on the beach. During low-tide there are three runways. Marked with wooden poles at each end and at night car lights and reflective strips laid on to the beach help the pilots land. The Traigh Mhor or the bay where the airport is was famous for its cockles until aircraft started to use the beach on 14 June 1933. Even today the beach is open for public, only a windsock indicates weather an aircraft is coming and the beach should be cleared out. But don't be fooled Berra Airports has the same regulations as any airport in the world has, and safety is as important there as in any airport.
