Default MId Atlantic FIRC in Washington D.C on January 20 and 21, 2018

Reminder for CFIG's and Interested Pilots

The Soaring Safety Foundation will present a Flight Instructor Revalidation Course in the Washington D.C. area on January 20 and 21, 2018.

The course will be presented by Rich Carlson of the SSF and other speakers. The course will cost $150 which goes to the SSF to support future courses and other activities.

The course will run from 8 AM – 5:30 PM on Saturday, Jan 20 and from 8 AM - 5 PM on Sunday, Jan 21. At the end of the course, your instructor's certificate will be re-validated on site without your having to go to a FSDO. The course is valid for renewal of multiple types of instructor certificates -- glider, airplane and helicopter. All pilots are welcome, the course is valuable for certificated pilots as well as instructors. The information presented will be very useful to those working toward a CFI certificate and/or pilots with private or commercial certificates. The SSF courses have been enhanced recently with more scenario based learning and discussions.

Location

The course will be held in the Marsh Mansion at the Heritage Hunt Community in Gainesville, Virginia. This is a warm and comfortable site which also provides parking and lunch if desired (at a cost of about $15 per attendee).. There are nearby places for lunch as well. This site should be convenient for those who live in the Virginia / Maryland / Delaware areas. It is about half an hour from Dulles airport for those who wish to travel by air.. If you do fly to Dulles, you will need a rental car.

Final details, hotel information and directions will be sent to those registered at a later date.

Registration

You may register and get information about the course online at the SSF website. Register at the following URL --

If you plan on attending, register on the SSF website, but please also respond to - James C. Garrison, SSA Director, Regions 2 & 4 to let us know you plan to attend. Respond by email to -- jcg8w at virginia dot edu

We need to keep a list of participants to make all the final arrangements. Thank you in advance for your participation. We look forward to seeing you next January.
