Default Fly In Pool Party THIS Sunday!

On your way to Oshkosh? Don't forget -- our "2nd Annual Pre-Oshkosh Fly-In
Pool Party" is being held at our aviation theme, luxury suites hotel THIS
SUNDAY, July 25th!

All pilots and aviation enthusiasts are invited to attend. Free food,
beverages, and live music will be served at poolside, from noon until we run
out of lies to tell each other!

When you land at Iowa City (KIOW), call Unicom on 122.8 when you're ten
miles out, and ask the FBO to call us. We'll come fetch you in our courtesy
van, and you can enjoy a couple of hours of camaraderie at poolside -- or
feel free to spend the night! (We've still got a couple of suites left for
the night...)

This is our way of saying "thanks" for another great year. Mary and I are
looking forward to seeing you there!

Jay, I gotta question. When we land at Iowa City, how can we call unicom ten
miles out? We've already landed. Or do you have 53,000 foot long runways?

Now, you are going to get a couple of packages in the next few days. They will
extend the range of your base station handsets out to a hundred miles or so.
Please listen for us on 122.75 before we get CLOSE to IOW.

UhOh! It sounds like Jay may have a amplifier to hook up with the antenna!

Yeah. It's called a decent antenna. Did you realize but for horizon effect and
lousy antennas that a 1 watt transmitter on one end and a 1 microvolt receiver
on the other end has a range of over a thousand miles?

Taxiing around here really sucks...

;-)

so.

Crikey! 100 miles?

Remind me not to tune it to 122.8...

;-)

Roger that...

Two words: land long :-)

I would imagine that LAHSO is a tremendously popular program, too. :-)
