Default Plexiglas protective cover removal

I got several good suggestions for the removal of the protective covering on
my Plexi windows. The covering had been on there for years and was cracked
and not willing to come off.
I tried alcohol, hair dryer and even "goof off". The hair dryer helped and
with the aid of a wooden scraper I cleared two windows. For the windshield
plexi I thought I would try soaking the glass in a tub of very hot water.
this last idea has worked out very well. it is fast with little work and
very little marking (or none) of the plexi.
My windows were covered with a white plastic protective covering and may
have been on there for several years.
The hot water also made the plexi soft and less likey to cracking while I
was pulling the covering off.
