1st ever FAI Sailplane Grand Prix USA 2016 less than 2 weeks out…

We have 6 media agencies attending at various levels (video and print media). Glideport.aero will be the official tracking website. The SSA tracker may also work, but since this is not an SSA contest adding the task will be more of a challenge. We will have live YouTube coverage on all race days driven by incredible mobile based tracking apps (GlideTrack, Spot (terrible) and InReach (good)). The result should be excellent coverage of the pilots as they progress thru the racing task. At any given time the placing of the pilots will be evident. Daily video recaps will be produced most days and we will also have interviews, podium presentations and media reports/articles to share on the website and SGP USA Facebook page. This is our first go for a US SGP. There are many moving parts. I'm sure we will have a few technical challenges but overall it should be a great experience for the pilots, soaring followers and, hopefully, the public tunes in a bit. So happy this will be during a reasonable time zone unlike some of the others. Just keep those FB posts public and we'll push it. Getting some interesting stuff from IVSM 2016 thanks to some attendees. Just hope nobody shows up needing a TFR like the Juniors had in Texas today.. Frank Whiteley |

Though, yes, things in the afternoon in the USA will be mid evening here in Moscow (or elsewhere in Europe), which is convenient. |
