Default Lasham new look clubhouse, new look web site and new courses for 2004

After a month of disruption and noise the dust has settled to reveal a
totally refurbished restaurant which is now open for business 7 days a week.
Worth a visit just for the collection of outstanding photographs gracing the
walls by Lasham member Neil Lawson http://www.whiteplanes.com The food is,
of course, as good as ever

Pictures are on the web site which has also been given a thorough make over
to increase download speeds and reduce bandwidth.

Recognising that making progress in learning the art of soaring can be slow
we have introduced Aerotow Solo in a Week. This is intensive one to one
training focusing on aerotow to maximise time in the air and making full use
of our Falke motor glider for circuit training. Obviously the solo is a
goal not a promise, subject to weather and pupil's achieving a satisfactory
standard. Initial results are very promising one young lady graduate of the
course fell short of her Silver Duration on Monday but consoled herself with
the height gain. The course is open to members of BGA affiliated clubs as
well as Lasham members but availability is limited. Details via the Lasham
office and web site.

One to one coaching on a daily basis is also available by prior arrangement
for pilots of all ability levels. Our holiday courses for beginners, Solo
to Bronze, Bronze to Silver and Aerobatics courses and Task weeks are
available throughout the summer as usual.

We have also been blessed by some outstanding weather in the last week.
Thanks to our in house forecasters Gordon MacDonald (Chief Flying
Instructor) and club member David Masson we all had plenty of prior warning
via the Lasham Weather Briefing web page and associated 'heads up' Email
service.
