Looking for Dennis Gallotti low-altitude visual effects letter
On the subject of low altitude training:
Dennis Gallotti wrote an excellent letter to Soaring, IIRC sometime 1984-1986, about visual effects that cause problems with low-altitude turns. I've misplaced it, and a couple folks have asked me about it... Anybody know where to find this? Thanks! Best Regards, Dave |

Looking for Dennis Gallotti low-altitude visual effects letter
At some point, we should get a volunteer team together to create a searchable database of all past issues of Soaring by article title. How valuable would that be to all of us?

The Soaring Archive is word searchable, especially with the correct terms, wildcards, and quotes. Frank Whiteley |

Looking for Dennis Gallotti low-altitude visual effects letter
Just a few months ago there was a training article in SOARING magazine on pivotal altitudes. If this is what you are thinking about, although not the author you are looking for, it is about how seeing more ground and less sky down lower causes a tendency to pitch up; thus getting slow.
Even if this is not the subject you are interested, nonetheless it is a good subject to teach. Raul |
