Default Camp Scholler without a car?

How practical is it to stay at Camp Scholler (Oshkosh) without a car? I
plan to fly into Appleton, and take a bus to OSH thus avoiding a rental
car. Suggestions appreciated.

Lots of people do it.
Depending upon how much "stuff" you have to bring with you on the bus,
it should not be problem.

Another option is to camp in the North 40 with acquaintances and friends.
Camp Scholler's advantage is that it may be closer to what you want to see.

I encourage you not to mess with all that. Just fly into OSH and camp in
the North 40 with the rest of us nut-cases!

The arrival procedure is simplicity itself once you have read (and
understood) the NOTAM. Don't be intimidated by it -- over 12,000 pilots
of all skills and experience do it every July -- you can too.

Waking up in the morning next to your airplane, with 11,999 of your closest
friends stretched to the horizon in all directions, is truly an experience.
And to avoid the daily hassle of catching a shuttle bus is worth its weight
in gold.

I suspect it's a commercial flight.

You can live at OSH during the show easily without a car. If you arrive
before the show opens there are NO busses but the camp store isn't too
bad. Oshkosh Cab does a very good job when you need to get out (not
cheap, but available). I'm sure you will find a neighbor with a car who
will let you ride along when they go to the grocery. If you don't
plan on cooking you will not have any problems without a car. We've
camped in Vintage for years with no car and you can spit from Vintage to
Scholler.

Nope. The EAA volunteers keep that place spotless, as do the participants.
Hell, even the Porta-Potties smell like pina coladas nowadays!

The showers? Well, if you're shy, they're not the place to be. But they
are free, cleaned thoroughly several times daily, neat, and, boy, do they
feel good after 12 hours in the blazing sun...

The Oshkosh experience is waking up next to your plane, in the middle of
12,000 like-minded aviation enthusiasts. I attended OSH 16 times before
having the privilege of camping in the North 40 (which I've now done for the
last six years), and I'm here to tell you that Oshkosh without camping is
like sex without, well, you know...

Or as we in the North 40 refer to it... either "The Wilderness" or
"Primative Camping".
