Default survival kit water sources

Was looking at the equipment list for a current overwater survival kit
and saw it listed a reverse osmosis unit in place of the old deionizer
cartridge.

Anyone have any details on the unit and its milspec descriptor? Tried
several google searches and got a lot commercial units and the large
trailer mounted units. Nothing on the small hand held units for
survival kits.

Thanks in advance.

Check out someplace like Cabalas or LL Bean.
