Default Fritz Kahl Passes

His funeral was held today in the adopted town he so dearly loved, in the
First Presbyterian Church of Marfa. All who knew him will know what an empty
space his leaving has left in his family, in the Davis Mountain area, and in
the aviation and soaring community of West Texas.

Enlisting in the Army Air Corps on December 8, 1941 and a flight instructor
at the old Marfa Army Air Base east of town, Fritz instructed a total 80
cadets in the arts of multi-engine flight. He met and married a Marfa girl,
Georgie Lee Jones and they were happily married for sixty years. He is
survived by his wife, two daughters, Jan Van Eman of Midland, Texas, and
Gail Cinelli of Yarmouth, Maine, four grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews.
